BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound) is a 15-amino-acid sequence isolated from a protective protein found in human gastric juice. In preclinical studies it accelerates the repair of tendon, ligament, muscle, and nerve tissue by upregulating growth factor receptors (VEGFR2, FGF) and promoting angiogenesis at injury sites. Clinicians use it adjunctively for tendinopathies, post-surgical recovery, inflammatory bowel conditions, and leaky gut, where it has been shown to restore mucosal integrity and modulate the nitric oxide system.
