AOD 9604 is a modified fragment (amino acids 176–191) of human growth hormone that retains the lipolytic — fat-burning — portion of the molecule while removing the segment responsible for growth and insulin resistance. It stimulates lipolysis and inhibits lipogenesis in adipose tissue without measurably affecting IGF-1 or blood glucose, and separate work has shown regenerative effects on cartilage in osteoarthritic joints. It is commonly used adjunctively in body-composition and joint-repair protocols.
